Danger! Breaking Waves.

In the world, there are places no one can go.
Places like high mountain cliffs which can't be reached by foot. Hidden beaches behind walls of thick rain forest. Islands so far away no boat can get there, or canyons so deep you would not even see the ground as you're standing at its edge. Places where there is no path to, no street or no road you could walk along. Secrets, never seen by anyone.
But there are also places which just are not meant to be entered. Some places are locked behind warning tape and covered by caution labels. Some may even have security guards who detain one from entering, or big black safety locks which can't be broken. These places are underground where no sun shines or beyond the civilization. Far away in any case, one would think, not knowing that everyone of us carries such a place with him or her.
Taken in Howth, Ireland
A place deep-down, shattered, locked, lost, dark, a place you don't go to, a place you don't ever enter. You hide it somewhere and maybe you forget it too from time to time, but sometimes the barricade falters and the little tiny things you hide float out like toxic fog before you can even react.
Although the hot-melt gun is stored right next to the security zone, it takes some seconds until you can seal the leak and stuff everything back to the place it belongs. Finally you can breathe a sigh of relief. You made it, again. You think that hopefully the next wave crushing in or the next stone slowly loosening from the wall won't cause any more harm. It's a matter of time until the next dike will break, you know that, but it's also a matter of time until you stop setting them up. Because the more you try, the more it'll haunt you. Then you can run as far as you want to, it'll be right behind you, hard on your heels.
So stop chasing. Stop building walls, stop hiring guards and doing large-scale orders of barrier fence at the home depot.
Lean back and drink tea. The fall of tide will come sooner of later.

  1. This is so profound, and I can totally relate to it. Humans hide so many things inside them, and they slowly waste away from the inside out if they keep the "toxic fog" bottled up. We really need to just let it out and we'd be so much happier.
Great advice! I love tea. :)

  2. Thanks! Yes I think the harder you try the harder it gets to forget and to "not think about" stuff. Guess it's just best to talk about it or maybe to write about it although some thoughts don't leave you no matter how they flutter through your head. Then time will do its job, at least I hope so;)
have a nice day or whatever time it is where you are:)
